What this is
The short version.
Cropping a landscape edit to vertical is the most common mistake in social video and the easiest to spot: the subject drifts out of frame, the on-screen text loses its edges, and the pacing — built for a viewer who chose to press play — loses the person scrolling within a second.
A platform cut is a different edit. Different in-point, different pacing, different text placement, often a different opening altogether. The same footage, a genuinely different film.
For paid placements the first second does nearly all the work, so those edits are built hook-first and produced in several variants for testing — which is only affordable because the editors sit next to the people buying the media.
How it runs
Four steps,
in this order.
Storyboard
What the film has to do, and the shot list that does it.
Assemble
The structural edit, before anyone argues about colour.
Finish
Grade, sound, captions and the platform versions.
Test
Variants into the paid account, with the winners recut.
Before you ask
Asked, answered.
Do you shoot the footage as well?
We work from your footage, arrange the shoot, or build the material in 3D where a shoot is not practical. All three happen regularly.
What do you need from us to start?
The raw footage, any brand assets, and a clear sense of what the film is for. The last of those matters most and is the one most often missing.
Can you add subtitles and captions?
Yes, burnt-in or as separate files. Most social video is watched without sound, so captions are treated as part of the edit rather than an accessibility afterthought.
How many rounds of changes are included?
Two, and they are staged — the structural edit is signed off before finishing begins, because reopening the structure after the grade means paying for the grade twice.
