What this is
The short version.
A logo is not an identity. The test of an identity is what happens at the edges: at sixteen pixels as a favicon, reversed out on a dark background, on a carton printed in four colours by a supplier who has never seen your brand guidelines. Most identities are designed for the presentation and break at the first of those.
So the deliverable is a system rather than a set of images — the rules for how type, colour and mark behave when they meet a format nobody anticipated. That is what lets your team, and any supplier, produce something that still looks like you without asking us first.
And the working files are yours at the end of the engagement. Not flattened exports: the layered, editable originals. An agency that keeps those is keeping a hostage.
How it runs
Four steps,
in this order.
Position
What the brand is for, and who it is not for.
Design
Mark, type and colour, tested at the sizes they will really appear at.
Systemise
The rules, written so that somebody else can follow them.
Hand over
Guidelines and the layered working files, in your possession.
Before you ask
Asked, answered.
Do we own the design files?
Yes — layered, editable originals, handed over at the end of the engagement, not just exported PNGs.
Can you work with our existing brand?
Frequently that is the job: extending a brand that already works into formats it was never designed for, rather than replacing something your customers recognise.
How many concepts do you present?
Two or three considered directions, each with the reasoning behind it. Presenting eight is a way of asking the client to do the deciding, and it usually produces a compromise nobody chose.
Do you handle print and packaging?
Yes, including press-ready artwork and working with your printer on specifications and proofs.

All nine sit under one roof, so these are the same team rather than three suppliers. See all nine.
