What this is
The short version.
A photographed packshot is a commitment. Change the label, add a flavour, want the same shot in another colourway, and you are booking the studio again. A modelled product is built once and re-rendered from any angle, in any finish, at any hour, for the cost of the render.
That economics is what makes real creative testing possible for physical products. Twelve variants of a hero shot is a week of studio time and an unpleasant invoice; in 3D it is an overnight render queue.
It also covers the shots a camera cannot take — a cutaway through the product, an assembly sequence, a concept that does not exist yet. The work runs storyboard to final grade in-house, alongside the video team, so an animated film and its platform cuts come from the same place.
How it runs
Four steps,
in this order.
Model
Built from your specifications, drawings or a physical sample.
Look
Materials, lighting and the grade the brand actually uses.
Animate
Where the piece moves, storyboarded before it is rendered.
Deliver
Stills, film and the platform cuts, in the formats you need.
Before you ask
Asked, answered.
What do you need in order to model our product?
Dimensioned drawings or CAD files are ideal. Failing that, a physical sample and good reference photographs get us there — it simply takes longer.
Is a render as convincing as a photograph?
For most packaging and hard-surface products, yes, and it is now routine in retail and advertising. For food and anything soft and organic a shoot sometimes still wins, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Can we reuse the model later?
That is most of the value. Once the model exists, new angles, colourways and pack variants are a render rather than a production.
How long does a product render take?
A straightforward packshot is usually one to two weeks from receiving specifications. Animation depends entirely on length and complexity, and we will scope it before quoting.

Video editing
Long-form down to nine-by-sixteen, edited for where it lands. Storyboard to final grade without leaving the building.
